It is with delight and surprise that I celebrate ten years of producing my guide. In these wonderful years I have had the pleasure of travelling around this marvelous province, playing golf, staying in many of the hospitality establishments and sampling the delights on offer both 'on-course' and 'off-course' and observing the growth of golf estates and resorts, as well as the growth of golf tourism from both the local and international markets.
The Cape is fast becoming recognised as a Mecca for golfers, as since the advent of democracy in 1994, the development of new golf estates has blossomed in conjunction with the upgrading of traditional courses and their facilities. Today's visitor will be pleased to find not only well-manicured layouts, but also professionally run clubhouses offering high standards in facilities and amenities. This website, lists many of the golf courses that are tourist friendly and a selection of hotels and guest houses that are ideally positioned to cater for the visiting golfers. The site, however, does not convey adequately the friendliness and sincere hospitality of the many people I have encountered over the past ten years, as I played golf as well as wined and dined in the spectacular and varied regions that make up the Cape.
Without doubt, while we have a wonderful choice of golf courses, hotels and guesthouses throughout this truly scenic part of the
country, the magic of this region is in its wonderful people.
